The Council aims to foster a co-operative effort within the local hospitality community; by creating a space for promoting opportunities and the exchange of ideas.

A primary mission of the Council is to facilitate and develop greater hospitality-related revenue growth in Alachua County, Florida through events, activities and tourism. 

Your participation creates a forum for two-way communication between industry members and the Alachua County Visitors and Convention Bureau, Visit Gainesville.

We assist members with improving their professional performance through educational development within the local hospitality industry and student scholarships.

MONTHLY MEETINGs:

Our members meet once a month for lunch or happy hours.

The meeting locations change monthly due to our rotating schedule.

Each member has the opportunity to host our monthly meeting and is encouraged to do so.

During the meeting, our host has the chance to showcase their property or business to our members.

If space is an issue, teaming up with other members to co-host is the perfect solution!

WHY THE PINEAPPLE?

The Pineapple represents the colonial period of hospitality. When ships returned from the exotic South Seas, they would bring home pineapples. 

The captain and crew would share pineapples with their friends as welcoming and hospitality gifts. Many colonial craftsmen would include pineapples in their fine-crafted furniture. 

The pineapple has been a universal symbol of hospitality, friendship and welcome for many centuries all over the world.
